Microsoft Small Business Server
Microsoft small business serverATW is a Microsoft Certified Partner with a wealth of experience in the installation and maintenance of Microsoft Small Business Server 2003, the most used file server for small companies. Microsoft dominates the market for small business networks with technologies based on the original Windows NT server. There are now two distinct product lines:
Originally these two sets were combined in a single identity termed BackOffice. In the late 1990s, Microsoft split the offering targeted towards businesses with less than 50 network users from those either with larger numbers of users or a significant need for wide area networking. Apart from the number of users and the option of using Microsoft Windows Terminal Server, there are few fundamental differences between the two products. |

Microsoft Small Business Server 2003Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 comes in two versions:
Both versions include Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, a fax server (ideal for allowing the sending of outbound faxes from any user’s desktop) and Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, for the management of e-mails and shared information. The Premium edition additionally includes Microsoft ISA Server 2000 (formerly called Microsoft Proxy Server) together with Microsoft SQL Server 2000, an intelligent database engine. This product is aimed at providing an economical and comprehensive file server for smaller companies. For larger organisations, the functionality of the Microsoft Back Office system is largely similar. The main difference is that the file server (Microsoft Windows 2003 Server) and the component services (e.g. Microsoft Exchange Server) are supplied and installed as separate components and can support literally thousands of users. Both Microsoft Small Business Server and the Microsoft BackOffice family of products are powerful and complex product lines. |
ATW – a Microsoft Certified PartnerIn order to ensure that clients receive the very highest standards of service, Microsoft operates a complete accreditation scheme for network engineers and a partnership scheme for network support providers. Partners joining the Microsoft Certified Partner Scheme are required to invest in the training and certification of their network engineers. Initial training is followed by a programme of retraining and re-qualification. It is necessary to maintain these high standards to retain Microsoft Certified Partner status. |
