Regular remote monitoring
With your permission, we can set up your server to permit remote access. We can then regularly log in from our monitoring centre to perform a number of tests that are designed to identify possible improvements to the efficiency and any potential problems with your network.
The tasks we regularly carry out include:
- checking your server
- back up device failure
- monitoring your disc pace capacity
- event log monitoring
- scanning anti-virus software and ensuring it is up-to-date.
Once your server has been set up to allow regular remote monitoring, your authorised staff will also be able to access your server remotely, allowing them to work from other locations, while permitting us to carry out remote monitoring and maintenance. Remote access is set up securely to any prevent unauthorised access over broadband using a secure hardware firewall.
Here are the some of the advantages of remote monitoring:
- your server will receive regular attention and many problems can be anticipated and prevented to reduce downtime
- quicker resolution of problems, you will no longer have to wait for an engineer to arrive, we can log in immediately and get to work on the problem
- painless monitoring – most of the time you won’t even know the routine work is going on ‘behind the scenes’.
- work from home – once we have set your site up securely to enable us to access it on a remote basis, which will be done in conjunction with a firewall, you and your colleagues will also be able to work remotely – having full access to their office e-mails and files.
